Winners of the Leicester Mercury Challenge Bowl

Musical Village Community Choir took part in the Leicester Competitive Festival of Music on 5th November 2011 and came home with the Leicester Recording Company Silver Disc and were overall winners of the Championship Choir class being awarded the Leicester Mercury Challenge Bowl!

The adjudicator commented "a truly beautiful sound... your joy in singing was obvious and moving!"

Congratulations to all the singers who worked so hard! You really deserved to win.

musical director - Lesia Smaditch

Lesia has been involved in community music all her life, playing in orchestras, singing in choirs and performing as a soloist. She has studied choral conducting with the ‘Association of British Choral Directors’ and currently conducts several local adult and children’s choirs.  Lesia also teaches choirs and the music curriculum at a number of schools around the county.
